Banchetto

Banchetto is the new craze in town.  It is an overnight food fiesta in the middle of the streets. Imagine it as a bazaar of food stalls. This will be the ultimate food trip and you can find all types of food you are craving for.

Banchetto (Emerald Ave - Ortigas)

For a P100-P250 budget, you will already enjoy food in Banchetto. You can choose from barbecues, burgers, hotdogs, kebabs, pastas, rice meals and desserts! You will have a lot to choose from over 75 food stalls.

There are 2 Banchetto events every week. In Emerald Ave., Ortigas Center Pasig every Friday midnight - Saturday 11am, and in Robinson's Pionner every Tuesday-Thursday 8pm-6am.

Be warned though that if you visit Banchetto-Ortigas, there will be a lot of people once midnight starts. Your patience will be tested here but the food you'll have deserves the long wait. Personally, I prefer visiting 3am so that the place won't be crowded that much.

I've been bringing some friends here and serves as their tour guide so here are some tips:

1. If possible, don't bring any bags. If you really need to bring one, bring a small bag as much as possible.
2. Once you ordered, roam around again and go back to your order after 25-30mins
3. Don't loose your order receipts for food pick up.
4. Secure a place (a table or a seat in the sidewalk) where you can eat and enjoy your food
5. Beware of pick pockets
6. You can buy your drinks at 7eleven or Ministop to be faster.

If you haven't been there, hope this will give you a good idea what to expect in Banchetto. I'll be posting over the month what I think are the must try foods in Banchetto. But for now, I'll be posting some teaser pics of my favorite stalls. Enjoy!

Next year, another venue will start for Banchetto on Shopwise, Libis every Monday-Tuesday 11pm-8am. To see the complete schedule of Banchetto, click here.
