JT's Manukan in Tagaytay

Tagaytay is one of the favorites when it comes to out-of-town trips. It's near the metro and travel time is now quick thanks to Sky Way. Beside the wonderful view that Tagaytay offers, another reason why people goes here is because of the restaurants that lines up Tagaytay. I'm a firm believer that one does not need to spend much to enjoy good quality food and I am glad that one of my favorite food joints is now in Tagaytay!

Introducing JT's Manukan! You read it right! JT's Manukan is now in Tagaytay! They had their soft opening last December 2011. To give you a little background, JT's Manukan is the best place for Chicken Bacolod Inasal (best place ever!). And if you want authentic Bacolod cuisine, JT's Manukan is the perfect place for you!

Let me describe my visit in JT's Manukan Tagaytay. The open air dining was a wonderful experience! You can truly appreciate the cool breeze that Tagaytay offers. With their wood benches and tables, it creates a picnic feel to your dining experience. I suggest you eat "kamayan" style just for a change. The experience is awesome!

Another great reason why you should visit JT's Manukan Tagaytay is because they have free wi-fi access! A rarity in Tagaytay restos. This is a great place to eat and hangout with your barkada. It is an ideal place for family as well. They have a pond area where you can go to and play with your kids.

Now let's go to my favorite part. Let's check out their food!

Batchoy is a local ilonggo dish. It has a soup-based of pork/beef broth with noodles (similar to mami or ramen). It has toppings of pork meat, pork liver, onion and garlic. Best to add egg on your order and add a bit of sinamak (local ilonggo vinegar) to enhance the flavor. This dish is 100% pinoy!

Kansi is a fusion between bulalo and sinigang. This dish uses batwan, a local fruit, that is widely use in Visayas region for souring agent. I only tried it so far in JT's Manukan and the taste is awesome! This definitely goes to my must-try-dish list! You can also order Kaldo to enjoy Kansi soup. Perfect for Tagaytay weather.

Of course, Bacolod Inasal is well known for their special way of grilling specially chicken! But for pork lovers out there, don't be disheartened for they also offer Spareribs in their menu. It's really juicy and tender. They also offer Boneless Bangus and Pork Barbeque. And don't miss to try their Atchara. It's kinda unique because they don't use shredded papaya. Their atchara is made up of veggies (another first for me). It's a perfect match for your grilled food!

What I love about JT's Manukan is their perfect way of grilling their meat. Not dry like the usual grilled food that others offer. Now let's go to their chicken inasal. You have a lot to choose from namely Pecho (chicken breast with wings), Paa (chicken leg and thigh), Pak-Pak (chicken wings), Baticulon (chicken gizzard), Atay (chicken liver), Isol (chicken bottom) and Corazon (chicken heart).

Of all the JT's Manukan, their Tagaytay branch is the best one for me! Of course they serve the same quality food as found in Manila. Maybe it's the cool climate. I don't know. But definitely, I am looking forward for my next visit in JT's Manukan Tagaytay!
