Baguio: Forest House

When it comes to Ilocano food, bagnet always comes into my mind. Bagnet is the Northern Luzon's very own version of lechon kawali. It's a slab of pork deep fried to perfection giving you a crunchy state like chicharon.

Whenever we go to Baguio, we are always craving to eat good quality bagnet. What better way  to satisfy this craving by visiting Forest House!

Forest House is one of the most visited restaurants in Baguio. You may consider it on the high end category but the prices are reasonable and they give big servings. You may also consider it as your temporary residence since they are now offering bed & breakfast services. What I love about Forest House is the cozy, wood cabin ambiance. It's like dining in your very own wood cabin on the mountains. The service is great and they have awesome staff that really makes you feel at home.

Now, to the good stuff. I know it's already cold in Baguio but that didn't stop us from enjoying their famous milkshakes. Their Cookies and Cream Milkshake is great! You should give it a try :D

For appetizer, we ordered Quesadillas. You can choose from chicken, tuna or sausage. In our case, we tried their chicken filling and it was good. Love the cheese! Love the chicken! Perfect combination!

We also tried their Fettuccine Carbonara. I'm not really a fan of white sauce pasta but this definitely work for me. I love the smoked ham that they used and of course, our old time favorite ingredient, bacon bits! The cream sauce is really good and each pasta noodle is well coated. I also like their version of bread sticks. Sarap!

And for the main course, of course, we ordered their Family Feast: Forest House Bagnet. This Family Feast includes to orders of Bagnet dishes and it is well balanced because it is served with steamed vegetables and a side salad. With a meaty meal, vegetables is always a need for us. We opted to try their  Binagoongang Bagnet as part of the package. Just a tip, pour the Binagoongang Bagnet on top of the  the veggie plate. Perfect combination!

Forest House is really something and as they claim, you haven't experienced Baguio if you did not come to their place. I also heard that their other Comforting Bagnet creations are all must try dishes. They also offer bottomless brewed coffee! Perfect for Baguio's cold weather.I can't wait to go back and eat their yummy meals.
